Koçkayası has been declared as a Nature Park with the Consent of the Ministry on 05.07.2011, as it was previously a Type A Promenade because of its cultural, natural resource values ​​and particularly rich potential in terms of outdoor recreation.

The 350,80 hectare area is 5 km from Giresun Kümbet Plateau. at the distance of the road to the oba on the Gök Tepe, 65 km from the Giresun Province, 30 km from the Dereli District, and 65 km from the asphalt road in Koçkayası obası location.When the fauna structure of the Nature Park is taken together with its environment in general, it is seen that it has a rich collection of vertebrate species.

It has high recreational potential due to forest, rock and water ecosystem features. An average of 20,000 visitors a year

Tabiat Parkının fauna yapısı genel olarak çevresiyle beraber ele alındığında zengin bir omurgalı tür topluluğuna sahip olduğu görülür.

Orman,kaya,su ekosistem özellikleri sebebiyle yüksek rekreasyonel potansiyeli mevcuttur. Yılda ortalama 20.000 kişi ziyaret etmektedir
