Göran Johan von Knorring, naturalized Knorring and Baron von Knorring (son of Casper Fredrik von Knorring, see noble family Knorring no. 809, Tab. 3), born November 10, 1657 on Tervalampi (Kf.) In Uusimaa County. Naturalized Swedish nobleman September 12, 1672 together with his older half-brother (introduced under no. 809). Musketeer at Upplands regiment 1674. Sergeant at Upplands regiment 1675. Ensign 1675. Cornet at the nobility flag 1676. Lieutenant captain at the nobility flag 1676. Cavalry master 1677. Cavalry master at the livery regiment on horseback November 30, 1679. Traveled to Holland in 1687 and was in the service of the General States. Lieutenant Colonel at Erskin's Swedish regiment in Holland September 30, 1688. Colonel for Erskin's Swedish regiment 1690. Colonel for Helsinge regiment March 13, 1700 . Deputy Governor of Kurland and Commander of Mitau 1701. Laid Mitau under Sweden 1706. Farewell 1708-12-04. Baron January 29, 1720 (introduced 1720 under no. 177). Died June 8, 1726 in Stockholm and is buried with his wife in Kungsholms church, varest his baronial weapon seems. "He was a brave warrior and was wounded several times, bravely defending Mitau with only 600 men for 6 weeks against Tsar Peter himself and 30,000 Russians". Married May 30, 1683 in Stockholm to Catharina Cronström, born September 23, 1662 in Garpenberg parish, Kopparberg county. Died November 29, 1742 at Harbonäs in Harbo parish, Västmanland county and buried December 13, 1742, after which the body was buried next to the man in Kungsholms church, Stockholm, daughter of chamberlain Isak Kock, noble Cronström, and Christina Hanssén.
