Knee BOW BROOCH
Description
English: Copper alloy knee brooch. Missing pin. Iron spring , heavily corroded. Semi-circular wings with pierced circular plates on the ends. Solid rectangular section bow with small transverse mouldings at the junction with wings (top and bottom), expands to large rectangular foot with hooked catchplate projecting from it. Width 18mm, length 31mm. Snape type 5.1A - as her type illus, and cat no 244 from Nether Denton.
