Description
Deutsch: Klusfelsen aus Hils-Sandstein am Petersberg bei Goslar. Der Name wird abgeleitet von Klause, weil in den Höhlungen vorübergehend Einsiedler, Klausner, gelebt haben. Vermutlich eine uralte neolithische Kultstätte, die im 11. Jh zu einer christlichen Kapelle umgewandelt wurde, als sich unter der Herrschaft von Kaiser Heinrich III. und Kaiserin Agnes oberhalb des Klusfelsens ein Kloster gründete. Die Ausrichtung des Kapellengrundrisses geht jedoch nicht nach Osten, das deutet darauf hin, dass der Innenraum ursprünglich eine vorgeschichtliche, kultische Bedeutung hatte. Es finden sich im Sandsteinfelsen zahllose Bearbeitungsspuren, Fenster und Eingänge, die zum Teil vermauert sind.
