White paper with typed black text

Mrs. Robert Hamilton Smith P.O. Box 4375 Philadelphia, Pennsylvania 19118 Dear Mrs. Smith: It is good to hear from you and to know that plans for the dedication on August 25 can no [sic] go ahead. With respect to platform and seating arrangements, I believe that we can take care of this without expense to UDC, although this is predicated upon my ability to borrow the stand and chairs from National Capital Parks in Washington. I will start negotiations on this, and hope there will be no conflicting use of the equipment on that day in August. Would you say that 400 chairs might be enough? I am attaching a list of N.P.S. people who should be invited, as you request. Incidentally, will you be asking Mr. Hartzog (the Director) or Mr. Lee (the Regional Director) to make the speech of acceptance? Also attached is a list of various dignitaries and political figures of the Gettysburg vicinity whom we ordinarily invite to all formal affairs in the Park. If you would like to invite these people also, please let me know; otherwise we will set up our own invitations for this group. We will look forward to seeing you and Judge Beard here at your convenience. Sincerely yours, Kittridge A. Wing Superintendent
