Judge William M. Beard 66 Elm Street Westfield, New Jersey 07091 Dear Judge Beard: Thank you for your kind letter of the 27th. It was a thoroughly happy experience for me to work with you and others of your committee on the memorial project, because of the unfailing patience and understanding which all of you exhibited. The official who accepted the monument is Mr. A. Clark Stratton, Associate Direction, National Park Service, Interior Building, Washington, D.C. 20240. I am sure Mr. Stratton will be most pleased to hear from you. Thank you so much for your invitation to call on you when next in New York. I will hope to do this.
