White paper with typed black text

Mr. Donald DeLue 225 East 67th Street New York, New York 10021 Dear Mr. DeLue: I am enclosing a sketch, scale 1 inch to 30 feet, which will, I hope, answer the need expressed in your letter of December 28. I had hoped to send a picture or two of the site to help Mr. Deacy, but find that all of the prints which we once possessed have been sent on to Philadelphia. If you don’t have any photos to serve your purpose, I will ask Philadelphia to forward something to you. The directions of view from the site to the principal skyline features are shown. So far as I can judge, the orientation of the figure on the memorial can perfectly well range anywhere between the Cemetery Hill direction and the Big Round Top direction. This is a matter for you to determine. The pedestal with its front inscription should face almost directly towards the avenue, I should judge. The center point of the memorial may be placed anywhere within the 30-foot circle as you see fit, without jeopardy to visibility. The ground throughout this area is virtually flat. Best wishes for the New Year. Sincerely yours, Kittridge A. Wing Superintendent
