Description
Bahasa Indonesia: Kitolod (Hippobroma Longiflora) merupakan tanaman liar yang memiliki daun hijau bergerigi disertai tangkai bunga yang panjang. Bentuk mahkota bunga yang menyerupai bintang, membuat tanaman ini dikenal sebagai Bintang Lima atau Bunga Jangar. Tanaman ini masuk ke dalam family Campanulaceae dan banyak dijumpai di area yang lembab, seperti rawa-rawa dan semak-semak. Meski tumbuh di tempat yang lembab, kandungan senyawa alkaloid dan flavonoid pada Kitolod dipercaya mampu mengobati ragam penyakit, seperti sakit gigi, menyembuhkan luka bakar, radang tenggorokan, dan asma.
