Description
English: Mahadwara (great entrance) of Kirtinarayana temple, recovered from the sand dunes at Talakadu. Keerthi Narayana Temple in Talakkad, Karnataka is one of the Pancha Narayana (lord Vishnu) shrines built in the year 1117 AD by King Vishnuvardhana. Initially, there was a sannidhi of Sundaravalli Thayar, which was later replaced by the navaranga mandapam having a statue of Keerthi Narayana.The nine foot tall idol of Lord Vishnu is standing on Garuda Peetha with Shankha-chakra and Gadha.
