Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Kirkinner railway station (site), Dumfries and Galloway
Opened in 1875 by the Wigtown Railway on what later became the Portpatrick & Wigtownshire Joint Railway branch line from Newton Stewart to Whithorn, this station closed to passengers in 1950 and completely in 1959. View south west. It is hard to imagine now as the road has been realigned and the site redeveloped but the line crossed obliquely overhead on a bridge with the station being where the house on the right now is. The station house still exists as it was nearer road level - see NX4251 : Station House, Braehead.
