| Description |
Deutsch: Evangelische Kirche Elsey in Hohenlimburg. Blick auf den Altar im neugotisch gestalteten Chorraum. Das Altarbild, in Anlehnung an das von Peter Paul Rubens zu Beginn des 17. Jahrhunderts geschaffene Bild „Kreuzabnahme Christi“, stiftete im Jahre 1842 der Kaufmann und Maler Johann Peter Bredt (1782–1852). Die Fenster stammen aus dem Königlichen Institut für Glasmalerei in Berlin-Charlottenburg und sind eine Stiftung des Kaisers Wilhelm I. zugunsten der Gemeinde. Die Fenster zeigen Christus in der Mandorla, umgeben von Aposteln und Propheten: links Petrus und Johannes, rechts Paulus und Jakobus. |
