English: British defeated and captured King Thibaw (King of Burma) on 28 Nov. 1885. They took him to first in Madras and later in Ratnagiri. Thibaw Palace was started to build in 1906. Thibaw inhabited this palace in 1910. His wife Su Paya Gale and Thibaw himself took their last breath in the same palace respectively on 25 January 1912 and 16 December 1916. Their tombs are situated at Shivajinagar in Ratnagiri.
मराठी: तत्कालीन ब्रह्मदेशचा राजा थिबा याला ब्रिटिशांनी २८ नोव्हेंबर १८८५ रोजी युद्धात हरवून अटक केली. त्याला कुटुंबीयांसह आधी मद्रासला आणि मग रत्नागिरीत आणण्यात आले. त्याच्यासाठी राजवाडा बांधण्याचे काम १९०६ला सुरू झाले. १९१० मध्ये तो येथे राहायला आला. राणी सु पाया गले आणि थिबा राजा या दोघांनीही या राजवाड्यातच अखेरचा श्वास घेतला. (अनुक्रमे २५ जानेवारी १९१२ आणि १६ डिसेंबर १९१६). त्यांच्या समाध्या रत्नागिरी शहरातच शिवाजीनगर भागात आहेत.
