[edit]DescriptionKing George County Schools-2017 (33234753731).jpg | King George: Sealston Elementary. Students in the photo are part of Mrs. Lefeave's 3rd grade STEM class working on designing a "Geometric Animal." Students in STEM classes work collaboratively on design briefs where they work together to ask, imagine, plan, create, improve and present their projects. This design brief included specific criteria that reinforced geometry SOLs for 3rd grade. All elementary students in King George County Schools participate in STEM classes as part of their specials rotation. The newly added STEM classes for grades K-6 (starting in 2016-17) in King George County has enabled additional opportunities for students to engage in learning environments that support collaboration and creative thinking within STEM fields. The enthusiasm and excitement of students and teachers working in STEM classes has been well received. |
