Description
English: Title: King George, Tongataboo, Friendly Islands. A photograph taken during the voyage of H.M.S. Challenger (1872-1876) funded by the British Government for scientific purposes. The expedition is believed to have been the first to carry an official photographer.
 This is a retouched picture, which means that it has been digitally altered from its original version. Modifications: darken underexposed area. The original can be viewed here: King George, Tongataboo, Friendly Islands.jpg: . Modifications made by 1Veertje.
