Notes Killingworth Colliery was originally known as Newcastle New Wallsend Colliery when it was owned by the Newcastle New Wallsend Coal Company. In 1895 it become Killingworth Colliery, when ownership changed to the Caledonian Coal Company and production began in 1897. In 1905 the mane changed to the West Wallsend-Killingworth Colliery and in about 1915, the Wallsend Extended Colliery. It operated from 1897 to 1913, 192 to 1930, and 1950 to 1956.
