Summary
[edit]DescriptionKibyra Theatre 9900.jpg |
English: The left side.
The theatre has a semi-circular seating area in three storeys. The stage had five doors, one of them is still standing. Its capacity was about 9000. Above the seating area the ruins of a temple were identified, that later was converted into a church. Part of the seats could be covered to protect against sun and rain. In front of the theatre one can see a lot of stones that, I think, probably were part of the now disappeared theatre building and supporting constructions. |
