Summary
[edit]DescriptionKhalsa Wood - geograph.org.uk - 790404.jpg |
English: Khalsa Wood It is easy to imagine the woods of Bestwood Country Park as being typical of what Sherwood Forest, the Royal hunting preserve and home to Robin Hood would have been like. But what Robin Hood would not have come across is this Sikh carving of a Khanda. Khalsa wood is managed by the ranger service in conjunction with the Sikh community of Nottingham. Khalsa is the fellowship of baptised Sikhs and 1999 was the 300th anniversary of the birth of Khalsa. |
