Description Bust of official of Memphis. Limestone. Origin: Probly Saqqara. New Kingdom, 19th dynasty, reign of Ramses II (1279 to 1213 BC). Museum of Mediterranean Archeology in Marseille (213). The cartouches inscribed on the shoulders are those of Ramses II and indicate under which king this personage lived; they are a kind of mark of devotion or allegiance.
