Keyite
The famous, well-known, micromounter Neal Yedlin specialized in having the unobtainable and this is a species pretty hard to come by, indeed. It was given to him on July 5, 1975, by Charles and Marcelle Weber (label on side of box) - probably within weeks of being approved by the IMA as a new species and before its official publication in 1977! The piece is hard to photo but its actually quite rich with beautiful blue microcrystals under the scope. I showed this piece to Charlie Key about a year ago, in fact, to get a rating on it and he described it as "loaded, for what it is." Despite reports of later finds at Greek Mines (possibly postmining?), these remain the only keyites I have ever seen. Mostly, I admit i ignore micros by and large - but some have a special romance and beauty to them that get past even my barbarous eyes. (TYPE LOCALITY)
