Nederlands: Deze woning betreft een zeldzaam wordende variant van het Kempisch dorpshuis: een eenvoudig klokgevelhuis. In 1832 was de grond waarop het staat nog bouwland, zo staat het althans vermeld op een kadastrale kaart uit dat jaar. De grond was in bezit van de kinderen van Vincentius van de Pol, later werd het eigendom van een van hen, Adriaan. Zijn zoon, Cornelis van de Pol, bouwde het huis in 1869 op de grond die hij bij de boedelscheiding van zijn vader in bezit kreeg. Cornelis was bekend als ‘koster Van de Pol’ en dat was hij meer dan veertig jaar. De inscriptie in een steen in de voorgevel ‘IM van de Pol 1840’ is verdwenen. Eind jaren ’90 is het huis opnieuw opgetrokken met behoud van de voorgevel.
