Description
Nederlands: De neo-gotische Sint-Margaretakapel op het Kerkhof - Kerkplein - Sint-Margriete - Sint-Laureins - Oost-Vlaanderen - België.
De Margarethakapel herinnert aan de heiligschennend diefstal van hosties in juni 1727. Twee ongure personen roofden de gewijde vaten uit de kerk en wierpen de hosties in de sloot naast het kerkhof. De kapel is in 1729 gebouwd op de plaats waar de hosties zijn gevonden, in een sloot in de onmiddellijke omgeving van de kerk. Aan het water uit de put in de kapel werd vroeger een heilzame kracht toegekend.
Men kwam er bidden tegen kinkhoest. In 1883 werd de kapel anderhalve meter verhoogd.
