Title
Kent-4AEFF3. Post Medieval. Double oval loop buckle. Front view.
Description
English: 1550-1650. Copper alloy, cast, broken half of a double loop buckle. Length 24.2mm, Width 21.6mm, Thickness 3mm, Weight 2.5g. Moulded trilobed/trefoil moulding, floral decoration with scrolls either side and small knop either end of narrowed central strap bar. There is a rusty iron stain which could indicate an iron tongue now corroded away. There is also remains of tinning especially on the back surface, otherwise green patina but with some surface corrosion.
