| Description |
English: Kensington Place. Head north to the end of Upper Gardner Street then west up Gloucester Road then north again along Kensington Place. This street gives some idea to the haphazard development of the North Laines. The Laine was often made up of separate furlongs from which the strips within each were owned freehold by a number of different people. Developers would gradually buy the strips then sell the plots on leasehold to builders to erect properties. This western side of this street was developed in the 1820s individually by different builders and hence the lack of uniformity. The eastern side was built as one long terrace in the 1830s by one developer. The tower block is Theobald House built in the 1960s.
