史跡 上総国分尼寺跡について

日本国指定のja:史跡 上総国分尼寺跡は、奈良時代中期に建立されたja:国分尼寺の跡です。国分尼寺としては寺域が最も広く、1983年（昭和58年）に国の史跡に指定されています（1986年（昭和61年）に追加指定）。ja:文化庁の史跡等の整備を目的とした国庫補助事業を活用し、「ふるさと歴史の広場」(史跡等活用特別事業)として1993年（平成5年）度に「中門」が、国分寺・国府等の史跡等を地域の中核史跡として整備活用する「地域中核史跡等整備特別事業」として1997年（平成9年）度に「回廊」が市原市により復元されました。併設された「史跡上総国分尼寺跡展示館」とともに無料で見学することができます。
