Weinberger Bookshop and Giftshop. Part of the Kazinczy Street Synagogue, Budapest Commissioned by the Orthodox Israelite Congregation, it was planned by Löffler brothers, Béla and Samu Sándor; built in as part of a multifunctional community complex (grand synagogue /1913/, school house, rabbi's apartment, school /1911/, headquarters in Dob Street /1912/, kitchen and canteen). The synagogue with more than 1000 seats was Hungarian made with Art Nouveau wall painting, Transylvanian motifs can be traced on the wooden carvings on the benches and bima, while eosin-glazed Zsolnay porcelain inlays can be found on the columns of the eastern wall. The main chord of the façade is represented by a Torah quotation on the party, flanked by elegant leaf ornamentation, which in Hungarian translation reads: "How awesome this place is; it is the house of God and the gate of heaven." (Gen. 1. 28:17.). The rabbinical chair on the left side of the Torah cabinet has not been used since the death of Chief Rabbi Reich Yakov Koppel, the synagogue's first rabbi, in 1929. His successor and son-in-law, Rabbi Sussmann Mordechai Ephraim Fischl, out of respect and modesty, did not want to sit in the same place as his holy predecessor. This custom was continued by the rabbis who followed him. After the first national Israelite Congress/General Assembly in 1868/69, the Somré hadath, founded in 1867, represented Hungarian Orthodox Israelite Congregation. Most of the rural Orthodox Jewish communities were destroyed during the Holocaust. The exodus of survivors continued until the mid-1950s. Orthodoxy in Hungary was reorganized in 1993. A több mint 1000 ülőhelyes zsinagóga magyar szecessziós falfestéssel készült, a padokon és a bimán erdélyi motívumokat érhetünk nyomon a fafaragásokon, míg a keleti fal oszlopain eozinmázas Zsolnay porcelánberakásokat találhatunk. A homlokzat fő akkordját a pártázaton olvasható, elegáns levélornamentikával szegélyezett tórai idézet jelenti, mely magyar fordításban így hangzik: „Milyen félelmetes ez a hely; nem más ez, mint Isten háza és ez az ég kapuja.” (1 Móz. 28:17.). A Tóra-szekrény bal oldalán található rabbiszéket Reich Jákov Koppel főrabbi, a zsinagóga első rabbijának 1929-es halála óta nem használják. Utódja, egyben veje Sussmann Mordekháj Efrájim Fischl rabbi tiszteletből és szerénységből nem akart ugyanarra a helyre ülni, ahol szentéletű elődje. Ezt a szokást pedig az őt követő rabbik is folytatták. Az 1868/69-os első országos izraelita kongresszus/Egyetemes Gyűlés után (is) az 1867-es alapítású Hitőr Egylet (Somré hadath) képviselte Magyar Orthodox Izraelita Hitközséget. A vidék orthodox zsidó közösségek zömét a vészkorszakban elpusztították. A túlélők elvándorlása pedig az 1950-es évek derekáig lezajlott. A magyarországi Orthodoxia 1993-ban szerveződött újjá. Magyarországi Autonóm Orthodox Izraelita Hitközség 2018-ban kilépett a Mazsihisz-ből.
