Lietuvių: Kauno miesto planai - 1922 (sud. N. Ambraškienė, V. Girčytė, Kaunas, 2007)
1922 m. Kauno miesto plane pavaizduota Kauno siaurojo geležinkelio trasa. English: Plans of Kaunas City - 1922 (compiled by N. Ambraškienė, V. Girčytė, Kaunas, 2007). The Kaunas city plan of 1922 shows the route of the Kaunas narrow gauge railway. From the depot in Žemoji Freda, the narrow gauge reached the central part of the city via the Aleksotas Bridge. A branch of the railway also ran along the present Daukša Street towards the Benedictine monastery. It is likely that this branch was part of the surviving narrow-gauge line to Vilijampolė, which was laid in the 1920s. The intersections of the "Siauruks" line were located on the Nemunas embankment at the present-day L. Zamenhof Street, S. Daukanto Street, at M. K. Čiurlionio Street and at the present-day Juozapavičiaus Avenue at the intersection with Sodų Street (by the then "Metalo" factory). The city plan shows the railway branches of the former fortress in Aleksotas, Aukštoja Freda, which have not yet been dismantled. |
