| Description | Kathleen Snowden was chief of the Gnotobiotics Unit, Veterinary Resources Branch at the National Institutes of Health where animals were raised in germ-free isolators. She also was the first woman and first African American to be elected to the Council Board of New Market, MD (1969), wrote four books, ran an antique store, and counseled NIH employees. |
