English: Friday Mosque. Aba Khoja Complex, Kashgar, Xinjiang Province
Slender, painted columns with flaring capitals elevate the porch of this congregational prayer hall inside the Aba Khoja complex. The tall, thin, horizontally-divided bases support red fluted columns to increase the perceived height of the porch. The capitals' fluting and horizontal divisions combine, in compressed fashion, the fluting of the columns and the divisions of their bases. English: Mosquée de l'Ouest (fin 19e siècle) du complexe du mausolée d'Appak Khoja. De minces colonnes peintes avec des chapiteaux évasés soutiennent le porche de cette salle de prière de la congrégation. Les bases hautes, minces et divisées horizontalement supportent des colonnes cannelées rouges pour augmenter la hauteur perçue du porche. Les cannelures des chapiteaux et les divisions horizontales combinent, de façon comprimée, les cannelures des colonnes et les divisions de leurs bases. |
