Merknad: Opprinnelig utgitt av Adelsteen Knudsens Forlag, Christiania, som 6 separate blad, i målestokk 1:2000. Nytrykk i målestokk 1:4000, utgitt av Avdeling Byutvikling, Trondheim kommune v/Kart- og oppmålingskontoret og Byantikvaren. Trykt i 1000 eksemplarer av Strindheim Trykkeri A/L, Trondheim 1994.

Dette detaljrike kartet fra 1868 viser gateadressene i Trondheim, vannledningsnettet og brannkummene, samt mur- og trebebyggelsen i byen. Vi kan også se en rekke av private og offentlige virksomheter, bl.a. fyrstikkfabrikken og tjærekokeriet i Ila, dampskipsekspedisjonen på Skansen, spiseanstalten på Hospitalsløkkan, brannvesenets mange sprøytehus, fisketorvet i Ravnkloa, Ridehuset og ølbryggeriet i Dronningens gate, Rådhusalmenningen, Hagerupalmenningen og Mustalmenningen i Kjøpmannsgata, Christianssteensgaden (i dag Brubakken), gassverket nedenfor Trondhjems Aktieteglverk på Bakklandet, tvangsarbeidsanstalten og Strinda distriktsfengsel på Vollan, Døvstummeinstituttet og eddikfabrikken i Østre gade (i dag Bispegata), turnhallen i Prinsens gate, det militære fengsel bak artilleriskurene i Bispegata og Stiftsarkivet ved ruinene av Domkirken.
