Deutsch: Fleckenartige Karst-Quellflur. Mittlere Schwäbische Alb, bei Hengen, Landkreis Reutlingen. Gemarkung Hirnkopf: Rest eines Vulkans vom Typ "Schwäbischer Vulkan", von dem nur im Urach-Kirchheimer Vulkangebiet vorkommende, inzwischen 356, Exemplare nachgewiesen sind. Die wasserundurchlässigen Tuffe und Vulkangesteine in der Schlotfüllung zwingen das Karstwasser in den aufliegenden, kalkigen und mergeligen Sedimentgesteinen zum Austritt. Im anschließenden Bach liegt holozäner und rezenter Kalktuff. Im Bach finden sich auch biogene Kalkabscheidungen durch Cyanobakterien. English: Fieldpatches of small karst springs seeping from the limestone top of a diatreme (one of ca. 356 upper miocene "Schwäbischer Vulkan". This typ of volcanoe erupted only around Bad Urach/Kirchheim unter Teck, Swabian Alb). Impermeable volcanic tuffs and rock dams up karst water to the surface. There are also Cyanobacteria, producing coated sedimentary grains of crystalline calcium carbonate on brook stones. |
