English: Norwegian catholic bishop of the Hamar diocese, Karl Jensson (1460–1512), photograph of a painting on permanent exhibit in Hoff Kirke, Toten (Norway). The writing below says: "Anno 1489 blef Jeg Carl Jens Søn, en Riddermands Mand, Sogne Præst paa Toten, var her 10 Aar. Blef Bisp i Hammer. Døde i Opsloe Bispe Gaard 1502. Ført der fra til Hammer og begraven" (In English: In 1489 I, Carl, son of Jens, a knight, was a parish priest at Toten, stayed here for 10 years. Was bishop in Hamar. Died in Oslo Bishop's Manor 1502. Moved from there to Hamar and burried.), the writing above says "Habenti plus dabitur" (whoever has, shall give), some sort of motto? Karl attended Rostock university in 1486, then Greifswald the next year, his name being Carolus Johannis di Hammaria,[1] |
