Poem Singer Statue In 1926, the winnings from the song festival were used to establish the Border Karelia Foundation aiming at the promotion of Karelian culture in Border Karelia. The first tangible result from the activities of the foundation was that Alpo Sailo's Poem Singer Statue was erected in the Kolmikulmapuisto park in connection with the song festival marking the centennial anniversary of Kalevala in 1935.
