Description
English: This monument is as majestic from inside as it is outside. Another architectural masterpiece that is deprived of popular attention due to its standing location outside Lucknow’s main tourist zone. However, it serves as a religious center for Shia Muslims. The monuments is a replica of mausoleum of Imam Hussain, the grandson of Prophet Mohammad. It was built by Dayanat-ud-Daula, during the reign of King Wajid Ali Shah. The two tall minarets and the golden tomb distinctly visible in the blue skyline in this photograph.
