| Description | From Kashgar, we made an overnight trip south, along the Karakoram Highway, to a high mountain lake called Karakul. The Karakoram Highway is said to be the highest public highway in the world as it passes over and through the Himalayas into Northern Pakistan. We only went down the road a few hours. The entire journey to Islamabad takes two days or more. In this picture, we start to see the desert giving way to the mountains. |
