Deutsch: Papa. Inferioris Hungariae oppidum. Kolor. Radierung nach Georg Hufnagel aus Braun-Hogenberg, 1617
English: Engraving of the Pápa castle by Georgius Houfnaglius from 1617, in the foreground probably depicting the execution of the mutinous Walloon mercenaries in 1600
Magyar: Georgius Houfnaglius Pápát ábrázoló metszete 1617-ből, az előtérben valószínűleg a lázadó vallon zsoldosok 1600-ban történt kivégzését látjuk. Az 1600-as év kedvezőtlenül alakult a keresztény haderők számára. Tavasszal elhunyt a legtehetségesebb magyar hadvezér, Pálffy Miklós. A rend helyreállítására kiküldött Adolf von Schwarzenberg hiába próbált tárgyalni a vallonokkal, szabályos ostrommal kellett visszafoglalnia a várat.
