Summary

[edit]
Description
English:
Calvary Chapel other name Chapel of Our Lady of Sorrows, a former cemetery chapel. The Calvary Chapel was built by János Almásy III in honor of the Virgin of Sorrows, so that the chapel would be a worthy decoration of the Catholic cemetery around the mound. Construction lasted from 1756 to 1761. The Baroque chapel became a permanent place of mass from 1948. Here is the XII century in 1948. The statue of the Virgin of Sorrows donated by Pope Pius is a faithful replica of the miracle-working statue Addolorata in Rome. It is the oldest building in Törökszentmiklós. Between 1948 and 2002 it functioned as a parish church. - In front of the chapel (ex parish church) is the Oláh-Szécsi stone cross, with a statue of Mary kneeling on the pedestal, inscription: 'Praise be to Jesus Christ!/Erected/József Oláh/and his wife/Julianna Szécsi//To the glory of God' - 253 Kossuth Lajos Street (Route 46), Törökszentmiklós, Jász-Nagykun-Szolnok County, Hungary.
