付記：
- 山あいに開けた旧神岡町の中心街・船津の最寄駅であり、旧役場の最寄駅でもあった。
- 神岡鉄道は谷あいに開けた集落の上を鉄橋で越えており、その鉄橋の最中に駅がある。中心街近くに駅を設けるための工夫であるとも思える造りになっている。
- 当駅の真下に湧き水があり、また古川からの路線バスが通っている。
- 駅名標の後ろに見える川は神通川水系高原川支流山田川。川沿いの坂道を数分歩くと中心街が見えてくる。
