Description
English: The reverse side of the Kaminari Gate (雷門). Note the two bodhisattvas on each side, one wrathful, the other benevolent. This imagery is found in Chinese and Vietnamese temples as well, and is called "Burning-Face Bodhisattva" meant to keep evil spirits in line before entering the temple.
