English: A squad of Marines cross the Helmand River after Forward Operating Base Zeegrugge in Kajaki was attacked with indirect fire, Sept. 12. Marines with India Battery, 3rd Battalion, 12th Marine Regiment, Regimental Combat Team 2, pushed a patrol out to search for possible spotters involved in the enemy mortar attack. The patrol, led by Sgt. Philip Percesepe, the squad leader for 1st Platoon, 3rd Squad, India Battery, entered several compounds searching for evidence of Taliban, and any weapons, or improvised explosive materials left behind. |
