[edit]DescriptionKaiserbau, Stuttgart, 01.jpg | Kaiserbau, Stuttgart, Marienplatz. Entworfen wurde der Kaiserbau von den Architekten Alfred Woltz und Georg Friedrich Bihl (1847–1935). Nach letzterem ist der Bihlplatz benannt. Bauherren waren die Gebrüder Henninger, Dekorationsmaler. Das hat Wolfgang Jaworek, Mitglied der Geschichtswerkstatt Süd, recherchiert. Seinen Namen erhielt der Kaiserbau, weil dort, so steht es laut Jaworek in einem Adressbuch von 1914, die Firma Kaiser eines der ersten Automatenrestaurants Deutschlands betrieben hat, also ein Schnellrestaurant mit Sitzplätzen, in dem in Automaten Essen und Trinken angeboten wurde. Der 1911 erbaute Kaiserbau wurde 2012 an die in Berlin und Stuttgart ansässige Copro-Gruppe von der Landesbank Baden-Württemberg verkauft. Der fünfgeschossige Kaiserbau besteht aus fünf Gebäuden und hat eine Gesamtmietfläche von etwa 6260 Quadratmetern. Diese verteilen sich auf 41 Wohnungen, acht Gewerbe- und Büroeinheiten sowie Archivflächen. Langfristig ist der Ausbau des Dachgeschosses angedacht, die Archivflächen sollen zu Büros oder Wohnungen umgebaut werden. |
