| Description |
English: K boot sign, Esplanade, Lerwick Unusual sign which has survived restoration of the building. Rumor has it that the boot sign which is on a former shoe shop, was used as an alignment mark by the captain of the steamer to help him navigate into the dock, in the days before the new ferry terminal and ro-ro ferries.
Whether this is true or not, it has become an established landmark, and is maintained in good condition. |
