English:

Probable copper alloy knife or dagger pommel or guard of Post Medieval date. The object is mostly rectangular but has raised circular projections from each corner or the bottom edge. The object is trapazoidal in section. There is an opening a rounded opening at the top for the tang of a knife to pass through. Traces of gilding remain on all four of the circular projections as well as on one side.and bottom edge. Most likely hammered. The hole at the top has been creating by pircing the metal from above and has left folds of metal on the underside.There is a cut on one of the bottom edges 4mm long. The object has been made from a single sheet of metal 0.8mm thick.The surface on the top and underside is completely worn. 

Height: 7.4mm, Length: 26.9mm (between circular projecttions on the bottom) and 23.7mm (between the straight bottom edge). Width: 24.2mm (between circular projecttions on the bottom) and 19.7mm (between the straight bottom edge). Top opening: Width: 10.1mm, Depth: 6.8mm. Weight: 3.2g
