Title
KENT-3630C5: Lithic implement
Description
English: A large utilised flint nodule of probable Post Medieval date. The flint is a dark grey to black color with off white cortex still visible in places flakes have been removed in multiple directions. Francis Wenban-Smith, a palaeolithic specialist at University of Southampton, suggests that the nodule could have been used as a hammerstone. Francis thought it was more likely to have been used for gun flints or something similar and probably wasn't prehistoric. The flint is 124.4mm long, 59.5mm wide, 61.6mm thick.
