Description A U.S. Navy Grumman KA-6D Intruder (BuNo 151793) and a McDonnell Douglas F-4J Phantom II from Fighter Squadron 151 (VF-151) "Vigilantes" escort a Soviet Tupolev Tu-16 the Pacific Ocean, in May 1979. Both squadrons were assigned to Carrier Air Wing 5 (CVW-5) aboard the aircraft carrier USS Midway (CV-41) for a deployment to the Western Pacific and the Indian Ocean from 7 April to 18 June 1979. The Soviet aircraft appears to be a Tu-16N (NATO reporting code "Badger A") tanker.
