Description A U.S. Navy Douglas KA-3B Skywarrior (BuNo 142649) of tactical electronic warfare squadron VAQ-132 Scorpions approaching the aircraft carrier USS America (CVA-66) on 24 September 1970. VAQ-132 was assigned to Carrier Air Wing Nine (CVW-9) aboard the America for a deployment to Vietnam from 10 April to 21 December 1970. The KA-3B 142649 was later assigned to U.S. Naval Reserve aerial refueling squadron VAK-308 and crashed on 29 October 1972 at Buckley Air National Guard Base, Colorado (USA), due to a failure of one of its control surfaces. One crewmember died of a heart attack.
