Mozart's exercise in polytonality, from the end of "A Musical Joke"

Summary

[edit]

Excerpt, last four measures, from Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's Ein Muskalischer Spaß (A Musical Joke) for two horns, first violin, second violin, viola, and cello, showing his experiment of multitonality.

Revision of original by PuzzletChung. (Added part labels, mostly to clarify pitch of Horn part.)

Originally engraved with Lilypond 2.4.2.

This musical notation image could be re-created using vector graphics as an SVG file. This has several advantages; see Commons:Media for cleanup for more information. If an SVG form of this image is available, please upload it and afterwards replace this template with {{vector version available|new image name}}.

It is recommended to name the SVG file “K522 multitonality.svg”—then the template Vector version available (or Vva) does not need the new image name parameter.

Lilypond should be able to generate an SVG from the original source. (Please use: \set Staff.instrument = "Horn in F" in the staff definition to apply revision.)
