Description
English:
Kőröshegyi-séd (creek/stream) from a small bridge/culvert. Here is the 3rd station of the Keltatúra (lit. Celtic Tour) educational trail, inrormation board. Former name was Körös River, and reached Lake Balaton on the western side of the Szántódi peninsula. When the third water mill of the stream was built, the water of the trench turned in the direction of NW, leaving its original bed, and since then it has been entering Lake Balaton through the fish pond area of Balatonföldvár. Basin size: 36,8 km2, the annual average of discharge is 0,08 m3/sec, its water quality is not good. Its shore is lined with lesser bulrush (Typha angustifolia). In the spring, the shore is decorated with the meadow/common buttercup (Ranunculus acris). Within the city of the stream, the water submerged, the tiny common duckweed (Lemna minor) appears. Here can be see grass snake (Natrix natrix), swamp turtle (Emys orbicularis), pheasant (Phasianus colchicus), European penduline tit (Remiz pendulinus) mallard duck (Anas platyrhinchos). Along the stream occurs the common Eurasian water shrew (Neomys fodiens) and musk (Ondatra zibethica). Translated by Microsoft Translator based on balatonfoldvar.info.hu.
