Description Kofukuji Temple is a Buddhist temple, founded in 669. Like most of Japan's monuments, it has been destroyed in fires, wars, etc. and rebuilt many times. This is the Tokondo, the only one of three Golden Halls still in existence. The design is from the year 726.
