Deutsch: Kürnbach (Landkreis Karlsruhe), Lammstraße 4: unterer Teil der hölzernen Haustür mit einer geschnitzten Inschrift, die offenbar das gerne als reformatorische Devise zitierte Bibelwort Verbum Dei manet in aeternum („Gottes Wort bleibt in Ewigkeit“ – vgl. Jesaja 40,8 und 1.Petrus 1,25) wiedergeben soll. Pst, kleiner Tipp: Wer mit Zitaten angeben möchte, sollte darauf achten, sie richtig abzuschreiben, und wer kein Latein kann, sollte Texte lieber in seiner Muttersprache wiedergeben. Denn die stolze Zitiererei ist hier gründlich schiefgegangen: der geschitzte Text lautet Verbum die manet in aeternam, was erstens grammatisch unsinnig ist und zweitens, wenn man dem Text denn unbedingt einen Sinn abgewinnen wollte, ungefähr mit „Ein Wort am Tag bleibt in eine ewige (was?)“ zu übersetzen wäre – was auch immer das heißen mag … |
