English: Königsteiner Straße, Pirna
Deutsch: Geschrieben vom Gasthof Weißes Roß in Pirna September 2015: "Der traditionsreiche Gasthof "Weißes Roß" wurde bereits im Jahre 1550 erstmalig erwähnt und ist damit das älteste Gasthaus der Stadt Pirna. Im 30jährigen Krieg brannte das Gebäude jedoch vollständig ab. Im Jahre 1678 wurde der Gasthof neu erbaut und erhielt dann die volle Konzession unter dem Namen "Weißes Roß".

Im Laufe der Jahrhunderte erschienen hohe und höchste Würdenträger des Reiches und des Auslandes. So waren Kaiser Alexander von Rußland am 13.11.1805, Prinz Heinrich von Preußen am 26.06.1806, Johann Wolfgang von Goethe am 25./26.04.1813, der sächsische König Friedrich August der I. am 07.06.1815 u.v.a.m. hier zu Gast. Am 1. Mai 1903 erfolgte die Grundsteinlegung für den Saal und schon am 30. November war die feierliche Einweihung. 1919-1933 als ein Zentrum der revolutionären Bewegung in Pirna, sind die SPD und die KPD ständige Gäste im Haus. Erstmals tauchte der Name Volkshaus auf. 1925 sprach der Kommunistenführer Thälmann vor über 800 Menschen in dem sonst 420 Personen fassenden Saal. 1933 galt daher auch der erste Ansturm der SA dem Volkshaus.

Den letzten großen Tanzabend erlebte das Volkshaus 1986. Seitdem wird der größte Saal im Kreis Pirna nicht mehr genutzt.
